Arthur R. Donovan of Binghamton
Arthur R. Donovan, of 24 Haendel St., Binghamton, died unexpectedly at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Hogan) Donovan, Binghamton; his children, Gerald and Anne Donovan, Huntsville, Ala., Thomas and June Donovan, Fairfax, Va., Sheila Donovan, at home, Brian and Jean Donovan, Dennis and Suzanne Donovan, Eileen and Timothy Heslin, all of Binghamton, Mark and Annie Donovan, Johnson City, Lisa Donovan and her fiancee' Jeremiah O'Dwyer, Queens; and a foster daughter, Leni and Richard Barry, Marathon; 25 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gerald (Margaret) Campion and Mrs. Helen O'Loughlin, both of Binghamton; two brothers, Edward Donovan, Silver Springs, MD, Francis Donovan, Binghamton; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Donovan, Binghamton; many nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton. He was a retired 32 year employee of Crowley Foods Inc. and was a foster parent for over 42 years for Catholic Social Services.
Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Saturday 1 p.m. and at 1:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Donovan may be made to Catholic Social Services of Broome Co., 232 Main St., Binghamton, NY 13905.
