Funeral Rites for Mrs. Church

Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday for Mrs. Violet church at the H. F. Suhr Company’s chapel, 2919 Mission street, San Francisco. It was fitting that the well loved mother should be amid a profusion of fragrant flowers, while reverent words were spoken by Rev. Collins, Episcopal minister, as friends wept quietly.
Flowers from her gardens, a bunch of fragrant roses, were on the casket, near a large spray of lilies of the valley, gardenias and bouvardia, from her children. Masses of blooms from friends in Petaluma and other cities filled the chapel.
As the services progressed the organ played softly. There was no singing. Friends from San Francisco and other cities were there to pray and say good-bye to a great mother, whose life was spent in devotion to her children.
Simple were the obsequies, just as she would have wished. There was no eulogy, only the words of the bible, were intoned over her, as the last farewells were taken.
The interment followed at Cypress Lawn Columbarium.
Mrs. Church, who made her home in this city for many years, and more recently in San Francisco, was the mother of Claude, Clyde and Joel Church, Mrs. Bertha Winn, Mrs. Juanita Behrens and Mrs. Dulcie Crook.
Some years ago Mrs. Church fell at her home and never fully recovered from the injury suffered. The end came suddenly after an illness of two hours from a heart attack.
