Tragically, daughter Flora May died of "consumption" at age 9 when they were traveling on the trail in New Mexico.
James Milo married Sarah Ann "Sadie"/"Sally" Snyder in 1843. They had 5 children:

He died in San Diego, CA, at only age 43 in a home for veterans.
