Captain Nathan Prescott Batchelder, member of an old-time family in this county, died Thursday at Laurel in the Santa Cruz mountains. He was 87 years old and a native of New Hampshire.
He is survived by his wife, Ada Rose Batchelder.
He was a 50-year member of Mount Moriah lodge No. 44, F. & A. M.; life member of California chapter No. 5, Royal Arch Masons; member of California Commandery No. 1, Knights Templar; life member of Islam Temple, A, A. O. N. M. S., of San Francisco, Calif.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Place funeral home at Los Gatos.
