Henry Ernest Summers, lifelong resident of Lauramie township, and one of the county's best known farmers, died Friday night at 9 o'clock at the family home on Lafayette rural route 7, southwest of the Wea school, after an illness of six months during which time he was bedfast. A son of Michael and Mary (Corkins) Summers, he was born April 11, 1869, on the farm where he spent his entire life. On Sept 3, 1925, he was married to Mrs. Bessie V. Mercer. Mr. Summers was a member of the Romney Presbyterian church and was director of the Stockwell Grain company ever since its organization. Besides his widow he leaves a step-daughter, Mrs. R. R. Weise, Alva B. Summers, of Lauramie township, and four nieces and one nephew. The body was removed to the Bradshaw funeral home and will be returned to the residence Sunday where friends may call after noon. Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the Romney Presbyterian church, with the Rev. Charles M. Filer officiating. Interment Concord cemetery.
