Edwin J. Snyder, 801 Sunnyslope, died Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Newman Memorial County hospital.
Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Arundel Avenue Presbyterian church. Rev. Claude G. Large, pastor of the First Christian church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Cottonwood cemetery. The casket will be open this evening from 7 until 9 o'clock at the Roberts-Blue Funeral home.
Mr. Snyder was born October 11, 1866, in Mount Union, Iowa. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Snyder. Mr. Snyder came to Lyon county in 1906. He married Amanda McCosh on March 21, 1888, in Mount Union, Iowa. Mrs. Snyder died July 1, 1938. Mr. Snyder had been retired two years. He was a member of the Arundel Avenue Presbyterian church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. J.M. Merwin and Mrs. Charles Zickefoose, both of Emporia; four sons, George Snyder, Delbert Snyder, and James Snyder, all of Emporia, and Ernest Snyder, of Americus; a brother, D.W. Snyder, of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and six granddaughters and one grandson.
