Herkimer — Max D. Zintsmaster, 54, veteran commercial photographer and local realtor, died unexpectedly Feb. 24, 1959 at his home, 420 W, German.
Mr. Zintsmaster at one time was photographer for the New York Central Railroad in this area. He also served as official, photographer for the State Police during the 1920s and 1930s in Herkimer County. He followed his father, the late Albert P. Zintsmaster, in the photography business. His father was a pioneer, in the medium. Mr. Zintsmaster was a Herkimer County deputy sheriff for many years and more recently had served as a court attendant. He was a licensed real estate broker and continued to operate that business until the time of his death.
Mr. Zintsmaster was born Feb. 29, 1904, in Herkimer, son of Albert and Nellie Leaverit Debenham Zintsmaster. He retired in 1946 when he sold his studio to Donald Robertson and Lloyd Elston. On Oct. 17, 1925, he married Mabel E. Cook, Mohawk, in Grace Episcopal Church, Utica.
