Obituary:
Monyca was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on May 22, 1984. She was the daughter of Robert Blane & Dorothy Mae (Colle) Scroggins. The family moved back to Garrison a few months after she was born and she had lived her lifetime in this community. She attended the Garrison schools and graduated with the Class of 2002 just a short time ago. She participated in the Fellowship of Christian Athletics (FCA), was a member of the Beta Club and a cheerleader. She was a Baptist and her membership resides at the First Baptist Church of Garrison. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior on May 4, 1993 and followed Him in Baptism on May 16th. Most important to Monyca was her family and friends —she had many. The Bible tells us to have friends, we must show ourselves friendly. People would see her, meet her and remember her. She always thought of others, she was polite and she had a big beautiful smile for everyone. Most special about her was her "spirit"--she knew who she was. You had only to look at her to see how she loved and enjoyed life. Her favorite scripture was as follows and with her life as a testimony, she lived it by these words.

Matthew 5: 13-16 You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick: and it gives light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

She is survived by her parents; 1 brother, Jerred Scroggins of Garrison; paternal grandparents, Robert & Mickie Barnett of Appleby, Texas; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Colle of Pinehill; many aunts and uncles, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by both of her grandfathers--Warner Scroggins and Robert Colle, Sr. (5/10/02)

Pallbearers will be David Green, Brent Langford, Lee Griffith, John Cranford, Ryan Pollard & Andrew Worsham. The Class of 2002 from Garrison High School will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
