Mrs. Alice Tatum Moore

Funeral services were held Sunday at the Wilson Funeral Home for Mrs. Alice Tatum Moore, 92, who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Zelma Bailey in Willis on Thursday, October 11. The body was brought overland to Leonard Saturday. The Rev. N. W. Oliver, pastor of the Methodist Church officiated and burial was made in Leonard Cemetery. Pall bearers were W.T. Nelson, Henry Johnson, Sam Johnson, Herbert Reynolds, Ed McCaslin, and Luster Stallings.

Alice C. Moore was born December 15, 1853, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Moore. She was married to Adolphus M. Tatum, December 21, 1873. A member of the Christian church since early childhood. She was one of the pioneer settlers. She came here before Leonard was built. She lived near Leonard for 63 years, for the past 10 years she has made her home with her daughter in Willis. In younger days she was very active in church work and administering to the needs of her country.

Survivors are, three sons, C. A. Tatum, Phoenix, Ariz., Tell E. Tatum, Pilot Point; John G. Tatum, Brownwood; two daughters, Mrs. Lillie White, Missouri and Mrs. Bailey of Willis. 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
