TEMPLETON--Walter H. Rohe, 74, died at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, at his home in Templeton. He had been ill for a year and a half.

Requiem mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Church here by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. A.W. Behrens. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, with military honors by the DeWitt-Loustanau Post No. 20, American Legion, of Dedham. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 and 8:15 p.m. both Monday and Tuesday.

Mr. Rohe, son of John and Margaret Merriyan Rohe, was born at Davenport Feb. 16, 1897. He received his education at Sacred Heart School, Templeton, and was married in Sacred Heart Church here to Ella Sibbel on Feb. 11, 1920, by the late Rt. Rev. Msgr. F. H. Huismann. They farmed three miles south of Templeton until moving into town Feb. 7, 1970. Mr. Rohe ws a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Holy Name Society of the parish, and was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Vernon and Gene of Manning, Norbert of Carroll and Wayne of Templeton; 30 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Ed Rohe of Carroll; and two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Trecker of Carroll and Mrs. Frank (Florence) Nagl, Dedham.

Mr. Rohe was preceded in death by a son, Glenn; four grandchildren; a brother, John Rohe; and two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Catherine) Meis and Mrs. Jacob (Theresa) Wagner.
