Pat was the first child of James Joseph and Isabel Jane Thomas Coyne.
He was a veteran of World War I serving in France. Prior to enlisting in the Army, his future wife, boarded with his family while she was teaching at the Coyne School. He would send letters to his younger brother, John Lawrence and remind him to listen to his teacher and give his regards to her.
He and Florence Chaney were married in Vinita, OK on 21 Mar 1923. They were the parents of one son who survives them.
They moved to Richland in 1946 where Pat was employed as a guard at the Hanford Power Plant. A position that he retired from.
