Rucker married twice (1) Mary Kate Greer and (2) Lucy Bright Groom.

Rucker and (1) Mary were married 21 October 1933, Rutherford Co., TN and had one daughter and one son. Mary died in 1967 and Rucker remarried.

Rucker married after 1967, TN to Lucy Bright (GROOM) OWEN, daughter of Myrtle WILLARD and Charlie E. GROOM. Lucy is buried in the Odom Cemetery with her first husband Jesse Lee OWEN. Lucy & Jesse had twin daughters before 1930 and two sons after 1930.

Rucker W. Raikes
Services for Mr. Rucker W. Raikes, 87, of Smyrna, who died Saturday, Aug. 29, at National HealthCare Center, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Smyrna, followed by burial in Mapleview Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Hubbard and the Rev. W.D. Thomason will officiate.
A native of Rutherford County, Mr. Raikes was the son of the late Gus and Meda Cooper Raikes of Milton. He was married to the late Mary Kate Greer Raikes, who died in 1967, and to the late Lucy Owens Raikes, who died in 1994.
He is survived by a daughter, B. J. Raikes Ries of Smyrna; a son, R. Raikes of Smyrna; a sister, G. Rakes of Smyrna; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Raikes was retired from Sewart Air Force Base, where he worked from 1942 to 1970, retiring as chief inspector of base supply.
He was a member and former deacon of the First Baptist Church of Smyrna. He was a former member of the Rutherford County Commission, and former coordinator for the Needy Family Foundation in the Smyrna/La Vergne area. He was a charter member of the Smyrna Booster Club and Lions Club.
Visitation with the family will be from 12-3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. today at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna.
