Hayden funeral Saturday
A funeral for darrell G. Hayden, 64, a longtime Campbell County rancher, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the First Presbyterian Church of Gillette.
The Rev. Leland Rubesh will officiate. Burial is to be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Hayden died July 7, 1962, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital apparently of a heart attack.
Hayden was born June 26, 1918, at Oshkosh, Neb., to Glenn and Zaida Hayden. At the age of 18 months, he moved with his parents to a homestead in southern Campbell County. He attended rural elementary schools and graduated from Campbell County High School in 1936.
After his education, Hayden lived for a short time in Casper and Lander. He then returned to Campbell County where he made his home on the T-7 Ranch until 1955. At that time, he returned to the family home ranch which he operated until his death.
Hayden married Maureen R. McClure on Sept. 28, 1941, at Hardin, MT. He was a member of the Farmers Home Administration Loan Board, Wyoming Woolgrowers Associaton, Farm Bureau, Farmers Cooperative Associaton and the Campbell County Predatory Board. His interest in children prompted him to be a rural school bus route driver from 1965 to 1975.
Survivors include two sons, Tony of Gillette, and Gary of Casper; two daughters, Linda Loflin of Casper and Beverly Gulley of Alamosa, Colo.; three brothers, Donald "Ike", Robert and Doyle "Bud" all of Gillette; three sisters, Neva Wilmot of Upton, Norma Duvall of Gillette and Nita Rae Christensen of Casper; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife on Feb. 18, 1966.
