A severe cold, contracted four weeks ago, which developed into pneumonia, caused the death of Paul F. Borchert of Cannon Lake last night at 8;30 o'clock. He passed away at his home at the age of 46.
Mr. Borchert has been a resident of this section practically all his life, having come here from Germany with his parents when he was nine months old. He was born Jan. 3, 1880.
The parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Borchert, came directly from the old country to the Cannon Lake home and Paul Borchert has lived there ever since, having taken over the place upon the death of his father.
He was married at Morristown November 7, 1907.
Besides his wife he is survived by five children, all of whom are living at home. They are Olga, Gertrude, Irene, August and Mildred. Two sisters, Mrs. A. T. Johnson of Palm Beach, Florida, and Mrs. W. J. Kalo, of Waterville, also survive. Mr. Borchert's mother is still living at the Cannon Lake home.
The Borchert residence is situated on the north shore of Cannon Lake. It has been made into a resort home and is called "Borchert Place."
Funeral services have not yet been arranged.
