Nature Photographer, Film Maker, Author. One of Sweden´s most distinguished describers of worldwide wildlife. He made several expeditions to South America, the West Indies and Asia, making films and shooting rare pictures. He presented his work in films and books, for instance ”Ett vildmarksrike” (A wildlife realm, 1964), ”Guyana – vattnens land” (Guyana – Land of waters, 1975) and ”Djungelbokens värld” (The World of the Jungle Book, 1980). 1998 was a series of stamps released in Sweden with Jan Lindblad and his two unusual pets; the tigers, Lilian and Rani. He also was famed for being an excellent whistler and animal imitator. He released several records, whisteling popular songs, and even hit the Swedish charts. ”The Jan Lindblad Trophy” is an award to his memory.
