Suggested edit: Nancy Dixon married Andrew K. Milstead in Tippah County, Mississippi, soon before the 1850 census where they are found living next door to Andrew's family. Nancy and Andrew had five children: James A, Mary Elizabeth, Sarah, Thomas E, and Isaac Monroe Milstead. The first three children were born in Tippah County, Mississippi, and the last two were born in Shelby County, Texas, where the family moved, around 1857. They settled in Clay Mounds in Shelby County, bordering Rusk County.

Along with other family members, Andrew enlisted in Company C, 14th Texas Cavalry (Johnson's Mounted Volunteers, First Regiment, Johnson's Brigade) on December 23, 1861, in Henderson, Rusk County, Texas. While he appears to have survived the Civil War, he died before 1870. Nancy and her children are living Titus County, Texas, in 1870, where she moved as well as her parents, and she is still widowed in 1880.

On 22 Oct 1896, Nancy married the recently widowed Isaac Roger Riddle in Titus County, Texas. After his death in 1903, Nancy lived with her son, Isaac, in Big Spring, Howard County, Texas, where she passed away on 03 Sep 1923.
