Robert G. (Bob) Farrar passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 at Northwest Community Hospital. Born Nov. 18, 1924 in St. Louis to George and Lillian (Wick) Farrar. Bob was a World War II Veteran. He was a VP for Fleet Services at GATX Corporation and a member of Traffic Club of Chicago. Following his retirement in 1986 he and his wife, Evelyn, were avid walkers at the Woodfield Mall. Bob enjoyed golfing, bowling, being a member of T.O.T.S (Traffic Old-Timers Society) and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Evelyn (Dickemper); children, Robert C. Farrar, Janice (Tim) Devereux; his grandchildren, Chris and Patrick Farrar and Tim and Terry Devereux; sister, Marion Ottersbach; and brother-in-law Ray Dickemper; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie; brother-in-law, Don; sister-in-law, Billie and daughter-in-law, Gail Farrar. Interment at Ridgewood Cemetery, 9900 North Milwaukee Avenue, Des Plaines, IL.
