Thelma "Grace" Frazier Lawhorne

Thelma Grace Frazier Lawhorne, 90, of Ty Ty died Thursday, January 30, 2014, at her daughter's residence in Casselberry, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Ty Ty First Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Duggan will officiate with burial to follow in Salem Memorial Gardens. Scott Schicker, Jeff Schicker, Greg Schicker, Doug Schicker, Alex Lawhorne and John Tibbs will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 3, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Lawhorne was born on February 10, 1923 and was the daughter of Eddie J. Frazier and Elizabeth Conger Frazier, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Brown Lawhorne; one son, Stephen Lawhorne; one daughter, Joan Lawhorne; three brothers. Avery "Bud" Frazier, Raymond Frazier, Russell Frazier; and five sisters, Myrtice Kickliter, Ethel White, Ava Patterson, Betty Stanford and Wynelle Walters. She was a homemaker and a member of Ty Ty First Baptist Church.


Mrs. Lawhorne was born and raised in the Tifton area and moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1959; followed by later moves to Saint Paul, Minnesota and Mason City, Iowa. Upon her husband's retirement, they moved back to Ty Ty in 1985. She was an expert seamstress and enjoyed quilting, bowling and square-dancing in her early years.


Mrs. Lawhorne is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Marjorie R. and Robert Wittekind of Apopka, Florida and Patricia G. Schicker of Casselberry, Florida; one daughter-in-law, Sue Lawhorne Brenna; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
