Mrs. Elizabeth Ann King died of paralysis Monday, July 4, 1910 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. S. Sunburn, living northeast of Villisca where she had made her home for the past year. Mrs. King suffered a stroke of paralysis two weeks prior to her death and on Tuesday of the following week, she had another stroke and gradually failed from that time.
The deceased was born in Thompkins County, New York, September 3, 1834, and was therefore 75 years, 9 months, and 29 days old at the time of her death. She moved to Knox County, Illinois, with her parents when nine years old. On August 8, 1852, she was united in marriage to Cornelius King and they made their home in Knox County until 1872 when they moved to Iowa and located on a farm near Villisca, where they lived until 1901 when they moved to Villisca, having sold their farm. The husband deceased the next year after moving to town.
mrs. King united with the Methodist Church early in life and had lived a devoted Christian life ever since. The deceased is survived by five children, three sons, Dr. George E. King of Villisca, Luther C. King of Omaha, Nebraska, Frank A. of Cynthia’s, and two daughters, Mrs. J. H. Sunburn of near Villisca and Melissa E. King of Milton, Oregon.
The funeral was held from the Methodist Church yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Enoch Hill.
