Son of William & Maria Hopkins of Brooklyn.

David married first Matilda Wyckoff Linnington, daughter of Abraham Linnington & Caroline Eldert, on Nov. 8 1865. She was born Aug. 25, 1843. Married second, Margaret Ann Lott on March 19, 1874 in Brooklyn.

In his will dated Feb. 25, 1913, David Hopkins, a banker, left a considerable estate to his widow Margaret A. Lott Hopkins, son William Lott Hopkins and grandchildren Abraham L. Hopkins & Matilda Hopkins, children by son Abraham L. Hopkins, now deceased.

At the time of his death, David was living at 1246 Oakley Ave., Ozone Park, Queens Co., Long Island, NY. He was also survived by a sister, Mrs. George Stewart.

David was a member of the New Lots Reformed Dutch Church at New Lots and Schenck Aves.
