George R. Brockner, 50, of 729 W. Spring St., died Tuesday in St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin, following several months illness.
He was born Oct. 3, 1924, in Elgin, where he lived most of his life.
He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the Navy, and was a member of Local 330, Chauffeurs Union.
Surviving are the widow, LaVerne; one son, Ronald of Lake Marian; a daughter; one brother and one sister and two grandsons.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 Friday in the Bergan-Miller Colonial Funeral Home; Elgin, the Capt. Everett E. Jordan, of the Elgin Salvation Army officiating. Burial will be in Lake Street Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral Home.
