Shawn Christopher Stone, 34, of Centralia, Illinois and formerly of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 7:38 p.M. on Monday, March 26, 2012 at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

Mr. Stone was born on Wednesday, February 15, 1978 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the son of Donald and Shirley G. (Rowe) Stone. He was married to Carrie Jo Anderson Stone and she survives.

Shawn worked as a mental health technician for Murray Center for eleven years. He enjoyed his job and loved helping people at work. He also loved hot dogs and had a great sense of humor. He was a member of the AFSME Union. The highlight of his life was watching his daughter in her many activities, including horseback riding, barrel racing, volleyball and track.

Surviving family members include his mother: Shirley Rowe of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; daughter: Mariah Nicole Stone of Centralia, Illinois; 5 brothers: Travis S. Stone and special friend Rebecca Kibler of Sandoval, Illinois, Tony Rowe and fiancee Trula White of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Darrell Rowe of Champaign, Illinois, Clifford Rowe of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Michael Rowe and special friend Lisa Bird of Dix, Illinois; sister: Tina Hall and husband Roger of Arkansas; several nieces and nephews including special nieces: Heather Gladney of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Tanea Wade of Minnesota also survive.

His father and one sister: Ruby Vaughn preceded him in death.

FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 30, 2012 in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Mr. Randy Sells will officiate. VISITATION: will be held from 5 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. INTERMENT: Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. For those who wish, memorials may be given to Trust Fund for Mariah Stone (Make checks payable to Carrie Stone) and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O.
