A native of Livingston, Tenn., he had lived in Muncie for the past 25 years. He was a construction worker for 11 years with State Construction Co. and was formerly employed at Durham Manufacturing Co. He owned his own construction firm before he became ill.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Cantrell Hargis; three sons, David, Muncie, and Steve and Scott, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Ethel Hargis, Livingston, Tenn.; four brothers, Ross, Muncie, Bill, Crawford, Tenn., and Leroy and Junior, both of Livingston; one sister, Mrs. Jewell Warren, Alpine, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
Rev. P.A. Dixon and Rev. Thurmond Key will officiate. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Calling hours at Parson Mortuary will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and for one hour prior to services at the church Thursday.
