Lois Akers was born July 16, 1905,in Rooks Creeks Township, Livingston County; a daughter of Dietrich and Estella Mae Albertson Carstens. She married Orlin 'Oly' Akers Aug. 28, 1926, in Lincoln.
Surviving are a daughter, Josephine Ethel Byrne Piercy; 11 grandchildren, Robert (Nanke) Byrne, Richard Byrne, Joyce (Kevin) Grant, Ruth (Chip) Bailey, Lisa (Chris) Glenn, Mark (Sherri) Akers, Vicki (Mike) Noe and Sheila (John) Bowmen; 21 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Clara Tamman.
She was preceded in death by her husband March 30, 1966.; three sons, Roy, Kenneth 'Dicky' and Eldon Akers; and nine brothers and sisters.
