Shirley E. Delong, 92, of 32262 Harper Ridge Road, Woodsfield, Ohio (Calais Community) died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell, Ohio.

She was born at Calais, Ohio on December 2, 1916 a daughter of the late Abel and Emma Dailey Hayes.

Shirley was a homemaker, farmer and member of the Calais Church, Calais, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Delong; one son, Lonnie Delong; two sisters, Olive Pierce and Pearl Hannnahs; three brothers, Oather, Owen and James Hayes; an infant sister and one great grandson.

Surviving are three daughters: Mary Ann Delong of Enon, Ohio, Darlene (Louis) Starr of Temperanceville, Ohio and Josie (Wayne) Back of Temperanceville, Ohio; two sons: Joseph Delong of Caldwell, Ohio and Charles (Kris) Delong of Lewisville, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Brubach-Watters Funeral Home, 202 Main Street, Summerfield, Ohio from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2009.

Friends then received at the Calais Church, Calais, Ohio from noon until time of services at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009 with Pastor Mark Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Calais Cemetery, Calais, Ohio.
