Quentin Roosevelt (Bozie) Tucker, 87, of 6708 Bens Run Road, Covington, Virginia died Monday morning, August 3, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Tucker was born April 16, 1922 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Willie and Lucy Brownings Tucker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Givens Tucker in 2007 and also by four brothers and three sisters.
He was a veteran of World War II with the United States Army in the European Theater, serving under General George Patton.
He had retired in 1983 as a construction laborer, working out of Roanoke Local #980 and having worked for various contractors in the area for a number of years.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Quentin Lee and Sona Tucker and Steven and Angela Tucker, all of Covington; six grandchildren, Stephanie Ripley, Kelly and Stacey Patterson, Kimberly and Eddie Wright, Chad Tucker, Ashley Tucker and Tyler Tucker; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. J. B. Broughman officiating.
Interment will be made in Lone Star Cemetery.
Friends may pay their respects at any time at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence of Quentin Lee and Sona Tucker at 6710 Bens Run Road, Covington, Virginia.
