Libby A. Lofgren, the tender age of 18, died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on March 16, 2012 in Limerick.

Libby was the youngest child born to Kevin and Doreen (Libby) Lofgren in Sanford on September 14, 1993. She was beautiful, with blue, blue eyes and dark hair, she would join her two older sisters, Michelle and Nikki and older brother Jason to make their family complete. Libby was full of energy, inquisitive and always ready to try new things. She grew up in Newfield, near the idyllic village of Willowbrook, where she played, attended the Line Elementary School and most recently graduated with honors from Massabesic High School in Waterboro. Libby volunteered nearly 200 hours at church suppers, at the town Library and the Lions Club suppers, and at Willowbrook Museum, her childhood playground.

Libby had many nicknames, her mother called her Lib and her friends tended to call her Libs or Libbaaay. She was confident, strong and carefree. Her vibrant personality and infectious smile made you want to be around her. She loved to sing and sing she did. She would hear a song once and she would put her own style into the lyrics. Libby was competitive in sports, especially softball, soccer and cheering for the home team! She liked to look her best and wasn't afraid to try the latest fashions or styles of clothes, make-up and new shades of lipstick. Libby could hold her own with the boys too; she went mudding, ice fishing and helped her family with projects around the house. Libby was employed at the Family Dollar Store in Cornish and started working as a teenager at the Limerick Supermarket.

Libby lived life on her own terms. She was passionate, stubborn and born to be free.

In her innocence, she pushed endlessly towards maturity and adulthood. In keeping with her spirit of fashion and looking one's best; she was so proud to have received a scholarship for $ 3,000.00 to attend cosmetology school. Her indelible life and carefree heart will be treasured by her family and many friends.

She is lovingly survived by her parents, Kevin and Doreen of Newfield; her maternal grandmother, Gladys Libby of Gorham; her paternal grandparents, Peter and Marie Lofgren of Florida; her siblings, Michelle Gardner and husband James of Waterboro; Nikki Hubbard and husband Eric of Newfield; Jason Lofgren and wife Crystal of Livermore; her nieces, Hannah, Emlie and Katie and her nephew, Brandon; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her namesake and grandfather, Arthur H. Libby.

Funeral Services were held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Alfred Parish Church, 12 Kennebunk Rd., in Alfred. Rev. Gary Ouellette of Grace Baptist Church in Portland will officiate. Committal prayers and burial was later in the spring at Hillside Cemetery in Gorham.

In keeping with Libby's dream of attending cosmetology school, a scholarship will be set up for future students that would like to attend college in that field. Memorial donations may be made to Massabesic High School, 88 West Rd., Waterboro, ME 04087.

The Autumn Green Funeral Home, 47 Oak Street in Alfred is respectfully handling arrangements.
