Nell Arwood Murphy, formerly of Memphis, passed away at home in Cleveland, TN on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Born and raised in Memphis, she was retired from Riviana Foods and relocated to Cleveland, Tennessee in 2006.
While in Memphis she was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church and Friendship Sunday School Class. She loved and cherished many church friends. While in Cleveland, she was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Sanford William Murphy, Jr (Buddy), four sisters Blanche Shepard, Louise Eavenson, Ruth Flowers and Christine O'Connor and two brothers, James and Herbert Arwood.
She is survived by her two daughters: Donna Murphy Houston and husband Gary of Middletown, DE and Patti Murphy Stevenson and husband Ben of Cleveland, TN; five grandchildren, Brian and Lindsey Houston and Dustin, Alex and Austyn Stevenson. She also leaves two brothers, Raymon Arwood and Frank Arwood, and his wife Barbara. Sisters in law Lynn Arwood and Elsie Elsie Arwood, as well as multiple neices and nephews.
Visitation was at Forest Hill South Funeral Home with interment following at Forest Hill Cemetery South. .
