Ella R was born on May 17, 1916 in Darling Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Charles and Martha (Knutson) Anderson. She grew up and attended Country School at District #74 in Darling Township.
Ella was united in marriage to Gale Nelson on June 30, 1935 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN. She and Gale built their home and resided in Darling Township area until 1975 when Ella relocated to Little Falls. She most recently had been living at the Harmony House of Little Falls for the last 5 years.
Ella was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Darling and later joined Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls. She was actively involved with Darling Ladies Aide and the Martha Circle at Bethel Lutheran. Ella was wonderful cook and loved to bake. She also liked quilting with the Bethel Lutheran Ladies. Ella also spent several years caring for Don & Barb Sorenson's family and Ed & Lucy Tanner's family, something she truly enjoyed.
Ella was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Ella is survived by sons, Morris Nelson of Randall, MN and Gordon (Danh) Nelson of Burnsville, MN; daughter, Janet (James) Bricher of Saint Paul, MN; grandchildren, Eldon (Andrea) Nelson of Savage, MN, Garrick Nelson of Billings, MT, Joey Bricher of Saint Paul, MN, and Tom Bricher of St. Paul, MN. Ella was preceded in death by husband, Gale Nelson; parents, Charles & Martha Anderson; brothers, Carl Anderson, Hilding Anderson, Clarence Abrahamson, & Todd Abrahamson; sister, Evelyne Helmerick; and infant sister.
