Mrs. Rachel Longanecker Esterly died suddenly at her home on Elm at, Saturday night of a complication of diseases.
The deceased was born near Lisbon June 24, 1844, being at the time of her death 80 years old. She spent her entire life in that vicinity until 19 years ago when she moved to Columbiana.
Although she had been in poor health for some time, the end came as a great shock to her many friends.
She was a lifelong member of the Zion Hill church and very devoted to her belief,
She is survived by her husband, Solomon Esterly, seven children; Mrs. Eileen Transue of Alliance, Mrs. Anna Pike, Canton; Mrs. Sue Boyce, Chester West. Va.; Ira south of town; Clarence, Leetonia; Frank and John Columbiana; also three brothers, Rev. Noah Longanecker, near Canton; Jacob Longanecker, Louisiana; Simeon Louganecker, south of town.
A short service was held at the home at 2 p.m. Tuesday and at the Zion Hill church at 2:30, with her pastor, Rev. Albert Harrold, officiating. Burial in Zion Hill cemetery.
