Rudolph M Wagner

Rudolph M Wagner, 88 a retired town of Herman Farmer, died late Monday afternoon at the St. Nicholas Hospital after a brief illness.

He had made his home with daughter, Mrs. Mabel Wesener at 1926 Martin Ave. for the past 19 years.

A lifelong resident of Sheboygan County, he was born August 5, 1868 in the town of Mosel, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Wagner, pioneer residents of the County.

He attended rural schools and on September 13, 1894 was married to Ms. Ida Sommer.

Following their marriage, the couple settled in the town of Herman where they were engaged in farming for 52 years. Mr. Wagner lived in Sheboygan since his retirement. His wife died on October 15, 1953.

Survivors, in addition to his daughter, include three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Emil Wagner of the town of Herman: and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Gaubatz of Chilton, and Mrs. Anna Grasse from Neillsville.

A daughter, Elsie, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church at Schwartzwald, with the Rev. Edmund Hennig, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Walter H Ahrens funeral home at Howards Grove from 4 PM Wednesday until 11 AM Thursday, and at the church from Thursday at noon until the hour of services.
