MRS. DR. W. F. MORRILL. Once more the angel of death has been among us, claiming as is victim one of the noblest women that ever lived in this community. Mrs. Mary C. Morrill, was released from her sufferings, after a very brief illness, on Monday morning, the 13th inst. Mrs. Morrill was a daughter of the late Randall Crawford, of this city, who as a lawyer, stood at the head of his profession, and whose legal abilities were widely known and appreciated. The daughter of Randall Crawford, in the usual course of events, could not have been an ordinary woman. Endued by nature with a kind of superior strength, a sound and practical education developed its powers and expanded its beauties. In the wide and intelligent circle in which she moved, and of which she was the ornament, she was universally beloved for her goodness of heart, and all the other virtues that combine to produce the character of the perfect woman. For her sorrowing husband and children, the sympathies of this community, where the family is so well known, will be fully extended. - New Albany Daily Ledger-Standard 13 May 1878 [age 45 yrs]
