ALLEN - At Pittsfield, Sept 3, 1890 of cholera infantum, James Roy, only child of Anthony and Lucy Allen, aged 8 months and 8 days.


Death has torn him away from our bosom one we loved so well;

But we know he's gone to heaven there with God to dwell;

We have loved him. Oh! so dearly, none on earth can know.

And we tried so hard to keep him but alas! he had to go.

Gone to heaven to be an angel, freed from pain and woe.

But we hope again to meet him, our little Roy we'll surely know.
