Clifford J. Ackerman, brother of Mrs. Roger Smith, of Rhinelander, died in the home of another sister, Mrs. Gertrude Mortsen, in Elderon, Wis., according to word received here. Born in Elderon on Sept. 12, 1896, he was 49 years of age. He had been in poor health for several years and after the death of his mother, Mrs. Mary LaGerette Ackerman, he made his home with Mrs. Smith, here and in Laona, for 18 years. He left here in 1940 to live with a sister, Mrs. Blanche Baken, in Lake Delton, and subsequently went to Elderon, in June of this year. Survivors are five sisters, Mrs. Blanche Baken, Lake Delton, Mrs. Gertrude Mortsen, Elderon, Mrs. Lucy Wiseman, Tigerton, Mrs. Alice Moore, Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Roger Smith, Rhinelander; and two brothers, George, of Elderon, and Grover, of Wood, Wis. His parents, two sisters, Mrs. Mae Spargo and Mrs. Charlotte Smithena and two brothers, Fred and Harry, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held, in Elderon, the Rev. A. C. Prust, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating.
