"Funeral of J. A.Fregulia.
John A. Fregulia was laid to final rest in tbe Catholic cemetery on Sunday last al 2 p. m. Father Kearny, the new priest just stationed here, conducted the services after the impressive rites of tbe Catholic church. The Native Sons, of which he was a member, also the Native Daughters, and members of the Italian Benevolent Society attended the funeral procession, with a vast number of private citizens in carriages and on foot, joined in the mournful cortege. The pall bearers were D. Franco, L. Alagranza, F. Podesta, George Courtright, L. Quilici, Jos. Garbarini, and L.Arata.
Deceased was born in Amador county, January 5, 1859, and died at 11 o'clock Thursday night, October 4. He was aged 47 years, 8 months and 29 days old. He was a blacksmith by trade, and for many years conducted the blacksmith shop on Broadway, near the bridge. He was married to his first wile, July 6, 1890. His wife died four years thereafter, leaving two small children. On July, 28,1898, he was married to Mrs Mary Ferenzi. who survives him. Besides his widow, he leaves a son and daughter, and several brothers and sisters, also an aged mother, wbo resides on the old homestead ranch east of town. He had been in failing health for over a year, the complaint in its final stage assuming the form of dropsy. He was of a kindly generous disposition, and many warm friends will miss the genial smile with which he was accustomed to greet them."
