Edward Harold Aune was born in Spokane, Washington on 26 February 1917. Edward's parents are Harold Erickson Aune and Eleanor B Swanson. His known siblings are Elsie, Ray, Earl and Knute Einer Aune.

He first married Helen Josephine Prater, November 25, 1938 in Spokane, Spokane County, Washington. Their known child is Marie Karen, and David E. Aune. This union ended sometime after 1946.

Shortly after getting married to Helen Josephine Prater, on 28 November 1943 Edward enlisted in the United States Air Force. Edward served during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. After 30 years, 9 Months and 2 Days of service to his country, on 30 August 1974 Edward retired fro active duty as a Colonel.

He second marriage was to Carol "Sue" Rebeca Fresby, on 14 January 1950 in Sparta, Michigan.

At the age of 69, Edward passed away in Tacoma, Washington, on 10 June 1986.
