Mrs. Gertie (Gertrude) Karn, widow of Nathan Karn, residing on Route 1, Knoxsville, died Monday at 5 p.m. in Frederick Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Karn was born March 6, 1886 in Frederick County and was a daughter of the late James C. and Laura E. Delauder Ferrell. Surviving are these brothers and a sister: Claude D. Ferrell, Knoxville, James Edgar Ferrell, Rosemont, William D. Ferrell, Knoxville, Charles F. Ferrell, Newton D. Baker VA Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va., and Miss L. Ethel Ferrell, Knoxville, and a number of nieces and newphews.
Mrs. Karn had resided in Baltimore for a number of years and had come to reside in Knoxville during the past year. She was a member of the Brunswick Reformed Church.
Funeral services will be held from the M.R. Etchison and Son Funeral Home, Frederick. Interment will be in the Reformed Cemetery, Burkittsville.
