Chechen President. President of the Chechen Republic from October 5, 2003 until his death on May 9, 2004. He was killed when a bomb planted in Dynamo Stadium in the Chechen capital of Grozny exploded. He was attending a Victory Day ceremony which marks the anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany.
