LYONS, CLIFFORD MCARTHUR, SR. - age 67 of Knoxville, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012. He was of the Baptist faith and was known as "Chief" among his co-workers at Y-12. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Lillian Lyons; infant sister, Leoda Lyons; and brothers, Almon, Bob and Roger Lyons. Survived by his sons, Clifford "Mackie" Lyons, Jr., Sammy Owens, David Lyons and wife Linda; daughters, Pam Conaway and husband Tom, Jessica Lyons; special friends and mother of his children, Helen Lyons; grandchildren, Christina, April, Kayla, Andy, Tori, Josh, Caden, Robert, Chris and Samantha; great grandchildren, Isaiah, Blake and Bryson; brothers and sisters, T. A. Lyons and wife Sue, Lena Jarnigan, Marjorie Wright and husband Horace, Lowell Lyons and wife Carol, Kerry Lyons and wife Sarah; and several extended family members. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Covenant Hospice and nurses' Linda and Lynn for their excellent care. Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m., Monday at Dante Baptist Church with Reverend Phillip Murphy officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy. for an interment with full military honors provided by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Dante Baptist Church, 314 Brown Dr.; Knoxville, TN 37918. Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City is in charge of arrangements.
