Married Walter Peyton Jerdone. She died of puerperal fever soon after the birth of their first child, Frank Hawxhurst Jerdone, born October 5, 1903, in El Paso, Texas; died June 5, 1995, in Kirkland, Washington after living for many years in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Her son Frank grew up to become a pioneering aviator, who was granted the 5th pilot's license to be issued in the U.S. He eventually became a captain for Eastern Airlines, and once successfully landed a plane carrying 17 passengers on only one wheel after the other malfunctioned. Frank wrote a memoir, "Pilot of Fortune" (1986).

FALLS CHURCH, VA. Nov 18 -- Mr. and Mrs. George W. Hawxhurst have issued invitations to the marriage of their daughter, Miss Nellie Esther Hawxhurst, to Mr. Walter Peyton Jerdone of Orange county, Virginia, the wedding to take place at the Presbyterian church Wednesday, November 25, at 12:30 P.M. The young people will make their future home in Colorado.
