Mary Ellen Wisdom Brady, 80, of Amarillo died Friday, March 23, 2012.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with
Mr. Glen Walton officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.

Mary was born June 21, 1931, in Norphlet, Ark., to James Floyd and Nora Doris Wisdom. Mary married Johnny D. Brady on Nov. 16, 1948, in Henrietta. They had been married 63 years and lived in several cities before settling in Amarillo in September 1958.

She worked for and retired from Amarillo Independent School District after 30 years of service in the cafeteria. Her passion was for children and cooking. Mary enjoyed quilting, traveling and fishing in East Texas. She loved slot machines, crossword puzzles and her dogs.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Odyssey Hospice for their care and compassion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Wisdom and James Floyd Wisdom Jr; and two
sisters, Dorothy Fitzgerald and Virginia Bernice Dodson.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny D. Brady; a son, David D. Brady of Beeville; two daughters, Marilyn
Meriwether and Carolyn Hefner and husband Buck,
all of Amarillo; a brother, Larry Clyde Stillwell of Mooringsport, La.; a sister-in-law, Billie Smart and husband Wendall of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Johnny Allen Massucci Jr. of Roanoke
and Shane Meriwether, Stephanie Smith and husband Anthony and Stacey Hefner, all of Amarillo; six great-grandchildren; a niece, Andra "Andi" Dragosavac and husband Steve of Amarillo; a nephew, Richard Smart of Amarillo; a niece, Luz Smart of Amarillo; and many other loved family members.

The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or The Salvation Army.

The family will receive guests from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
