Lela was born on March 5, 1923 in Christian County. She was the seventh of eight children born to Cy and Addie (Woods) Rogers. Lela's father and older siblings raised her following the death of her mother when Lela was 3. In 1944, Lela married Allen Jones of Galloway. They had three daughters during their marriage. In 1958 she married Charles Webb of Rogersville. They had two sons during their marriage.
Lela worked throughout her life at many different jobs in the Springfield area, as well as in the Ellinwood, Kan., area where she lived for 15 years. She was a waitress, a housekeeper and a factory worker to name a few occupations. The job she loved the most was that of a nurse's aide in two nursing facilities in Kansas. Lela always enjoyed helping people and would go out of her way to do so.
Lela was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Troy, Walter and Homer Rogers; three sisters, Murva Klapp, Clella Norton and Lola Rogers.
She is survived by her sister, Loretta Bowers of Cherokee Village, Ark., and by her longtime companion, Charles E. Webb of Springfield. Lela is also survived by her children, Sandra Fields and husband Bill, Lana Casey and husband Ron, Vickie Ogden and husband Lonnie, all of Springfield; Gene Webb and his wife Vicky, Ellinwood, Kan., and Rick Webb of Republic; her 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
