Francine McFaddin Thompson, 83, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008.

She was born March 13, 1924 in Botetourt County, a daughter of the late Carrie Belle Fix McFaddin and Winfred Raymond McFaddin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Thompson and a sister, Martha McFaddin.

Mrs. Thompson was the proud owner of Saks Ally in Lynchburg, Virginia, for many years.

She was a member of the Rivermont Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a son, Jay W. Rumburg, Hedgesville, West Virginia; and a daughter, Sally Scott Thompson Campbell, Pamplin, Virginia; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2008 at the High Bridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Natural Bridge, Virginia, with Dr. Louis Skidmore officating.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
