Born in Canada, daughter of Etienne and Marie (Boisvert) Parent. She married Thomas Parnell in 1848 and started a family. In about 1850-1853, they move the family (3 sons) to settle in Somerset, WI. They built the first log cabin in the area, and hosted missionary priests to hold mass in their home until the church was built. The family grows to 7 children while farming the land. Children born in Canada are William, Oliver and Frederick, after moving to Wisconsin, Elizabeth, Lawrence, John, and Mary.
