Leonard C. Gladitsch, age 87 formerly of Vesta and Marshall, died Friday, February 8, 2008 in Woodland Heights Nursing Home in Inver Grove Heights. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 14, 2008 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel in Echo with burial in the Vesta Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday one hour prior to services in the funeral home in Echo. Arrangements are being handled by the Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso.

Leonard Charles Gladitsch was born November 28, 1920 in Vesta Township, Redwood County, Minnesota to Paul and Lydia (Burmaster) Gladitsch. Len was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Vesta. He grew up on the family farm in Vesta Township and attended Country School District 82 and the Echo Public School graduating from Echo High School in 1938. Len farmed the family farm in Vesta Township until retiring in 1995. In July of 2002 he moved to Marshall and after breaking his hip in the fall of 2004, he entered the Woodland Heights home in Inver Grove Heights. He was a life long member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Vesta where he had served as Trustee in the church. He also belonged to the Vesta Lions Club and the Vesta Jaycee's, enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and had been a member of the Redwood Falls Golf Club for many years.

Leonard C. Galditsch died on Friday, February 8, 2008 in Woodland Heights Nursing Home in Inver Grove Heights at the age of 87 years, 2 months and 10 days.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters; Winifred Anderson and husband Don of So. St. Paul, Shirley Gladitsch of St. Paul, Alice Sonnee and husband Robert of St. Paul and Paul Gladitsch and wife Michelle of Eagan, 7 nieces and nephews; Stuart Sonnee, Kim Cochrane, Jason Gladitsch, Paul Gladitsch III, Terri To, David Anderson and Daniel Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Glenmor and his niece Judy Anderson.
