Obituary in The Times and Democrat, Orangeburg, SC, 31 Oct 1992: Denmark - Mrs. Roxie Carson Huggins, 74, of Route 2, Denmark, died Friday at Providence Hospital in Columbia. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Ghents Branch Baptist Church near Denmark, with the Rev. Bill Bynum and the Rev. Walter Seay officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Mrs. Huggins was born Oct. 21, 1918, in Neeses, a daughter of the late Willie Hampton Carson and Ethel Hutto Carson. She was retired from Palm Beach Company and was a member of Ghents Branch Baptist Church. She was the widow of Arnold E. Huggins. Survivors include two sons, Carson Huggins and Joe Huggins, both of Denmark; a daughter, Mrs. Annette Cook of Denmark; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to Ghents Branch Baptist Church Picnic Shelter Fund. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Mercer Funeral Home in Denmark. Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.
