FANCY FARM, Ky. - William Edward "Ed" Goatley, 72, formerly of Fancy Farm, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday at Southgate Healthcare center in Metropolis, Ill.
His parents were William Albin and Mary Letha Cash Goatley.
Mr. Goatley was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post No. 26 of Mayfield and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Vivian Wilson Goatley; one son, Eddie Goatley of Fancy Farm; three daughters, Marita Gifford of Paducah, Lisa Isbell of Mayfield and Julia Ellington of Newburgh, Ind.; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hodge of Fancy Farm, Linda Kilcoyne and Anna Belle Wilson, both of Mayfield; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Jerome Catholic Church. The Rev. Ray Goetz will officiate and burial will be in St. Jerome Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. ; today at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield. Prayers will be said at 7, p.m.
