N. P. Kair died at his home in Providence township on Monday, Sept. 27, 1909, aged 63 years, 5 mouths and 9 days. Niss Peter Kair was born in Schleswig, Germany, April 18, 1846. On Nov. 26, 1868, he was married to Christine Hansen, and to this union four children were born, three daughters aud one son. In 1873 they came to America and settled in Providence township, this county, where they have since resided. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the Danish Lutheran church, of which the deceased was a member. The pastor, Rev. Aug. Faber, preached the funeral sermon. Mr. Kair is survived by his wife and four children, namely, Mamie K., wife of Frank Reding, Marie, Niss and Anna, all of whom are at home except Mrs. Reding, and by one brother, Peter Kair, of Arizona, and three sisters, Mrs. Andrew Johnson, of Seattle, Wash; Mrs. Martin Christian, of Dos Palos, Cal; and Mrs. Peter Gregersen, of Cedar Falls, Iowa. Mr. Kair was one of the early settlers in this vicinity, having lived for thirty-six years in Providence township, and during this time has made a host of friends and acquaintances who will regret his demise.
