Mrs. Sarah L. Abbey died some time during the night, Thursday or early Friday morning at the home of her son, L. T. Abbey, on West Sixth Street in this city. Though Mrs. Abbey had been in failing health for some time, her death came as a very sudden shock even to her son and his family. Only Thursday she was out at her son's home and when Mr. Abbey went to his work on the St. Joe branch early yesterday morning, he left thinking his mother was alright. When Mrs. Abbey took breakfast to the aged lady a few minutes later, she found her dead in her bed.
The deceased was seventy seven years and six months of age at the time of her death. She was born May 30, 1849 and had living in Villisca since 1885.
The funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 o'clock at the L. T. Abbey home, Rev. E. S. Muncher will be in charge of the services and burial will be made in the Villisca Cemetery.
