THE CATAWBA NEWS-ENTERPRISE, 19 February 1929. Miss Esther Florence Minges, age 71 years, died at the home of her brother, Mr. S. A. Minges, Wednesday afternoon in Claremont, where she had made her home for a number of years, after an illness of several weeks, suffering from several diseases. Miss Minges was born and reared in Claremont where she had a number of friends who will miss her as she was good and kind to all who knew her. She was confirmed in St. James Lutheran church in early girlhood, later she moved her membership to St. Marks Lutheran church here where she remained a faithful member until her death.
The deceases is survived by three brothers, Messrs. S. A. Minges, Claremont; John Minges, Newton, and Henry Minges, of Connelly Springs, besides other relatives.
Funeral services were conducted in St. Marks Lutheran church Thursday afternoon at 3:30 by her pastor, Rev. Lawrence Miller. Internment was in the town cemetery. The floral offerings were beautiful.Daughter of Miles Mingus and Margaret Starnes.!
